Why do language and display settings matter?
A kitchen is a busy place. You may be reading with wet hands, in poor light, or while a child is talking to you. Clear text in a language you read easily is not a luxury. It is how you avoid mistakes.
Which languages are available?
Plenishly works in English, Spanish and French. You can switch from the language switch in the top bar or from your profile. Many screens follow your choice, and more are being translated.
What can you change for easier reading?
| Setting | Who it helps |
|---|---|
| Larger text | Anyone reading from across the counter, or with low vision |
| High contrast | People in bright kitchens or with low vision |
| Reduced motion | People who find movement distracting or uncomfortable |
| Relaxed spacing | People with dyslexia or who tire when reading |
| Underlined links | People who find links hard to spot |

What is light and dark mode for?
Dark mode is easier on the eyes at night and uses less power on some screens. Light mode is easier in bright kitchens. The automatic setting follows your phone, so you do not have to think about it.
How does hands-free cooking help?
When your hands are covered in flour or raw chicken, you should not need to touch the screen. Hands-free cooking reads each step aloud and listens for simple commands, so the phone stays clean.
What if something is still hard to use?
Tell us. If a button is too small, a color is too faint or a screen confuses you, use the report option in your profile. Accessibility problems are real problems, and they get fixed.
